Our Vision

Every Life is Valuable

Over the past century, numerous civil rights activists have championed the rights of marginalized groups. Yet, despite these advances, many still remain overlooked, often treated as mere numbers or “consumers” rather than recognized for their intrinsic worth and individuality. Everyone has inherent value, and every contribution matters.

WINGS is committed to supporting these individuals, advocating for them on an individual basis.

We believe in empowering individuals to reclaim control in their lives and assert their right to choose—a privilege often taken for granted by many. We provide education for individuals, communities, employers, caregivers, and families. We offer employment opportunities tailored to suit each individual's lifestyle.

Our dedicated team invests the time to personalize each journey, considering the multifaceted impact of employment on health, wellness, diet, and work-life balance. We envision a world where everyone has equal opportunities and the liberty to make choices, aspiring for a life as fulfilling as their peers. With determination and creativity, we believe in a richer life for all.

Wing PASA

Wings PASA is always looking for people who are passionate about what we do. We believe our staff is the driving force behind our commitment to serve our community and people with disabilities as we live and work together.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are critical concepts when it comes to people with disabilities. Here's how they pertain to this group:

1. Diversity encompasses the wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and experiences within the disability community. Disabilities are incredibly diverse, including physical, sensory, cognitive, and invisible disabilities. Recognizing and celebrating this diversity is essential.

2. Equity involves ensuring that individuals with disabilities have fair and just access to opportunities, resources, and accommodations. It acknowledges that people with disabilities often face systemic barriers, such as discrimination and unequal access to education and employment. Achieving equity means addressing these disparities and providing the necessary support.

3. Inclusion Inclusion is about creating environments and communities where people with disabilities can fully participate and contribute. This involves not only physical accessibility but also fostering a culture of respect, acceptance, and belonging. It means actively involving individuals with disabilities in decision-making processes and valuing their perspectives.

When it comes to people with disabilities, DEI efforts should focus on: - Accessibility: Ensuring physical spaces, digital content, and information are accessible to all, regardless of disability. This includes things like ramps, sign language interpreters, and accessible websites. - Representation: Promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities in media, advertising, and decision-making positions. Seeing diverse representations can challenge stereotypes and promote understanding. - Education and Awareness: Providing education and training on disability-related issues to increase awareness and reduce stigma. This can be done in schools, workplaces, and communities. - Accommodations: Offering reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to participate fully. This might include flexible work arrangements, assistive technology, or alternative formats for information. - Advocacy: Supporting advocacy efforts and policies that protect the rights and interests of people with disabilities. This includes advocating for anti-discrimination laws, accessible transportation, and inclusive education. - Intersectionality: Recognizing that individuals with disabilities may belong to other marginalized groups, and addressing the unique challenges they face due to the intersection of multiple identities (e.g., disability, race, gender). In essence, DEI efforts should strive to create a world where people with disabilities are not just included but are active contributors, and where their rights, dignity, and unique perspectives are respected and celebrated.
