Job Development

Job Advocacy, Career Development, & Retention

We offer onsite assessments to evaluate skills in real-world work environments, hands-on training opportunities in various industries, and guidance on workplace expectations, time management, and teamwork.

From creating cover letters and resumes to in-person interview support and employer follow-up, our team will be with you every step of the way when it comes to starting your career. In addition, we will support with the following items:

  • Assistance identifying career interests and individualized strengths to create a custom plan and approach based on the specific needs of the job seeker.
  • Support in the job application process – finding appropriate job leads, submitting applications, and connecting with employers.
  • Conducting mock interviews to assist job seekers in building confidence and feeling prepared when the opportunity comes. This includes practicing interview skills and coaching on proper interview etiquette.

We provide a one-on-one support to ensure every job seeker will have a smooth transition into the workplace. This process includes assistance in learning job-specific tasks, developing routines, and addressing challenges as they arise. To ensure job retention, we strive to do the following:

  • Educate employers about needed accommodations and inclusive workplace practices.
  • Empowering individuals to self-advocate by communicating their needs.
  • Assisting with mediation and problem-solving if work-related complications arise.
  • Providing continuous check-ins to assess job satisfaction, opportunities for skill-building, professional development, and address any concerns.
  • Being there to support promotions, job changes, or additional training as needed.

Benefits of Supported Employment

Every participant will receive a personalized plan tailored to their unique goals and abilities. From there, they will be paired with job coaches that meet those specific needs and foster trusting and supportive relationships with the job seeker.

Who Do We Serve

Wings is proud to serve adults with intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities who are seeking meaningful employment opportunities. This includes individuals who are struggling with mental health conditions, those who need extra support navigating the job search process, and those who are looking to develop their skills or gain workplace experience.

Individuals who participate in our Supported Employment Services must be connected with an approved funding source such as a Medicaid Waiver or the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
